Esther Jobrack - Biography

"Art is a Snapshot of the Essence" - E. Jobrack

Esther Jobrack grew up and continues to live in Livermore, California.  Livermore was once a small railroad and cattle town that today is often compared to Napa and Carmel with its award winning wines from picturesque vineyards, quiet living and inspirational art.  Two leading national laboratories located in Livermore increased the community's population as well as the community's desire and level of sophistication for the arts. You can find all of Esther Jobrack's work influenced by Western Themes in its own category under the "Portfolio" button.

Horseback riding, attending rodeos and reading any library book about horses were high on Esther's list of favorite activities as a teenager and young adult.  In fact, she still attends the Livermore Rodeo which is part of the "Coors 6-Pack Circuit", and an occasional gymkhana   Esther's creative and artistic expression has also included dance, interior design, and landscape design. Esther has been active in the local art communities since she was a teenager. She is a current member of the Livermore Art Association.

Esther has received several prizes including First and Third Prizes, for "Vest and Rope".

With only a few years to go until retirement she looks forward to art as her main occupation. She anticipates having plenty of time for festivals, time in the studio, workshops and meeting with people who love art. Esther squeezes in landscape and renovation design projects for friends, and gets inspired in the middle of the night to hit the studio and put what she calls "the snapshot of the essence" down on paper. Sometimes the inspiration is subtle and delicate.

While making a pen and ink work the inspiration is accuracy and pain staking detail. Several of Esther's pieces in pen and ink are hand colored in watercolor after the giclee is produced. These pieces are customizable. Imagine being able to pick what color roses you would like spilling from a simple glass pitcher! Or camellias from a crystal vase. Maybe even sunflowers in a galvanized pail.
