Oh my goodness it was hot!
On Saturday we had 97 degrees and 101 on Sunday! I am very thankful for my sister and several of my best friends, and even my very friendly booth neighbors. We all kept each others spirits up and joked and helped as needed. Otherwise, the time would have dragged on minute by slow cooked minute! The public was very brave coming out in the heat to support the event, but as you can imagine, days that hot are not very motivating for shopping.
There were so many dogs. There was a Great Pyrenees puppy, at a mere 42 lbs, who decided he had enough. He sat down and couldn't be budged until he cooled off in the shade! We made friends with min-pins, cockapoos, King Charles spaniels, ridgebacks, a whippet, chihuahuas, miniature border collie, goldens, and labs. We saw malamutes, huskies, a Burmese Mountain dog, and there was a gorgeous boxer.
There was just as much variety in the people we met. I sold an original watercolor, but forgot to take a photo with my very first public customer! Additionally, people stopped by and gave me a lot of positive feedback. We invited many many people to come in and sit and get out of the glare of the sun.
Here is a picture of my booth.
I know one thing, I will probably not run into weather any more hot than we did this weekend!
Take care, and stay out of the heat!
